- Short description
The European Air Traffic Management (ATM) system faces growing complexity due to increased traffic, evolving civil-military needs, environmental constraints, and new entrants. This demands a shift towards a more dynamic, resilient, and performance-based system with greater automation, interoperability, and flexibility. The project proposes solutions to deploy next-generation ATM capabilities, enhancing operational efficiency, scalability, sustainability, and secure access to airspace. Key objectives include: - Advanced Air Traffic Control (ATC) platforms with integrated Communication, Navigation, Surveillance, and Meteorological services. - Dynamic airspace management through real-time Dynamic Airspace Configuration and Demand-Capacity Balancing. - Increased automation in demand-capacity balancing at local and network levels. - Trajectory-Based Operations with automated cross-border clearances to optimize flight paths. - Flexible and secure civil-military coordination. - Capacity-on-demand services through automated, collaborative processes. - Improved environmental performance via dynamic Performance Based Navigation routes. - Digitalization and automation of civil-military Collaborative Decision Making for Airspace Management and Traffic Flow. - Secure cross-border Mission Trajectory management and deployment of Dynamic Mobile Areas. - Optimized airspace usage, operational efficiency, and enhanced safety for all airspace users. The project is structured around seven integrated solutions, each targeting specific challenges with defined objectives and success criteria.
