The Institute of Business Informatics - Data & Knowledge Engineering is one of the four institutes for Business Informatics at the Johannes Kepler University Linz (JKU) and is headed by o. Univ.-Prof. DI Dr. Michael Schrefl.

Teaching

Our courses convey competences of data and web modeling, data and knowledge based systems, semantic artificial intelligence as well as data warehousing and data mining in studies of social and economic science. [... more]

Our current research activities cover the areas of business intelligence, semantic technologies and data and business process modelling. [... more]

Kooperation

Tight cooperation with national and international partners is an integral part of our institute. Our project partners are among others Frequentis and University of South Australia.

We appreciate proposals for joint research projects and are on hand with our experience in the entire process, from writing applications for research grants to disseminating research outcomes. Presenting JKU's Air Traffic Management Research at the University of Tokyo

Christoph Schuetz from the Institute of Business Informatics -- Data ? Knowledge Engineering at Johannes Kepler University Linz recently presented research on the Target Time Management System (TTMS) to Prof. Eri Itoh's group at the Research Center on Advanced Science and Technology of the University of Tokyo and representatives from different companies, including Narita International Airport and Japan Airlines.
