Kurzfassung

Schema diagrams are widely used in database design as they support a high-level graphical representation abstracting from particular implementation details. Traditional schema diagrams, such as entity-relationship diagrams, aim at describing object structure. They are insufficient, however, to depict object-oriented database schemes which also capture object behavior. Object/Behavior Diagrams fill this need. They provide for a uniform graphical representation of the structure as well as the behavior of objects, strictly following the object-oriented paradigm.
