Kurzfassung (Englisch)

Forms of computer-mediated communication (CMC) have become ubiquitous and influence our lives. Facebook, Skype, Twitter, WhatsApp, and YouTube produce huge amounts of traffic and information - ideal for analysis. The intention of the present work is to provide a structured and generalized approach which supports the analysis process of computer-mediated discourses. The underlying communication model makes clear the basic elements of CMC and shows how this communication takes place. With this understanding, multiple views are defined which are represented by different attributes and various guiding questions. This work can serve in a theoretical way as groundwork for analyzing computer-mediated discourses.
